Watch | Lucknow Mahapanchayat: 'Those Who Inflicted Violence on Us Are Now Folding Hands'

The Wire's Arfa Khanum Sherwani was at the mahapanchayat and spoke to farmers on a number of important issues.

On November 22, a huge Kisan Mahapanchayat was held at Lucknow’s Ecogarden which saw the participation of farmers and agricultural labourers from across the country, particularly from Uttar Pradesh.

While the crowd was certainly jubilant with the repeal of three laws, they also made it clear that their agitation will continue further until they secure a legal guarantee for MSP (minimum support price), until justice is ensured in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence and compensation is announced for farmers who passed away in the last year of agitation.

The Wire‘s Arfa Khanum Sherwani was at the Mahapanchayat and spoke to farmers on a number of important issues, from agriculture distress to politics in Uttar Pradesh and at the national level.
