Farmers in Punjab, however, are unimpressed. Speaking to The Wire, a leading farm union leader said that political parties and big Indian corporate houses have always been hand-in-glove, and they cannot entirely trust any one party. They’re all “anti-farmer”, he believes. On Harsimrat Kaur Badal’s resignation from the Union cabinet, he said that it’s good that the regional parties are thinking about regional issues.
