In his new book, India Unmade: How the Modi Government Broke the Economy, former finance minister Yashwant Sinha has talked about GDP numbers are misleading, the RBI’s autonomy is in extreme danger and demonetisation was the biggest banking scam.
Sinha, a former Bharatiya Janata Party leader, has been a vocal critic of the government’s policies for the past couple of years. He quit the BJP in April.
The former Union minister talks to The Wire's Arfa Khanum Sherwani about his book, the BJP's prospects in 2019 and more.
