New Delhi: After cancellation of an academic seminar scheduled as part of one of the longest-running colloquiums at the Delhi School of Economics (DSE), the Delhi University has asked its affiliated colleges to promote a summit on “cow welfare.”
The university administration has directed college principals to share with faculty members and students the details of ‘Rashtriya Godhan Summit’, a five-day event focused on the “welfare of cows and promotion of cow-based sustainable innovations”, reported The Hindu.
The Dean of Colleges had sent an e-mail Wednesday (October 29), instructing principals to circulate information on the event. The e-mail said that participants could witness “a plethora of activities and exhibitions”.
Faculty members of the Delhi University have expressed their outrage over the varsity administration’s decision.
Earlier, The Wire had reported how a seminar, titled ‘Land, Property and Democracy’, was scheduled to be held at the DSE on October 31 was cancelled on the directions of the administration of DU, under which the DSE functions.
