At Bihar Sharif in Nalanda district on March 31, young men involved in a Ram Navami procession hurled petrol bombs at Muslim shops chanting “Jai Shri Ram”. Shops and buildings were burnt. As many as 4,500 Islamic literature books of the 110-year-old Azizia library were set on fire. Locals say that the carnage continued five hours, after which the police arrived.
