Former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association and one of India’s foremost lawyers, Dushyant Dave, who breaks into tears at the end of the interview, says by permitting surveys of mosques “Justice Chandrachud has done a great disservice to the constitution and to this country”.

Dave says of Justice Chandrachud he’s “playing in the hands of somebody” and later, when specifically asked whether he means the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, he replied “no doubt about it”, adding this was proved by the aarti the former Chief Justice performed in the company of the prime minister and, secondly, by his claim that the Ayodhya judgement was revealed to him by God.
