Gokulpuri’s tyre market was burnt to ashes in the 2020 Delhi riots. Now, with Delhi set to elect its assembly representatives again, The Wire reached out to riot victims to know if they still think about that horrific time.
Shopkeeper Naushad Ali said that divisions in society became deeper after the riots. Some said the government did not give them any compensation, while according to some others, the help they received from the Delhi government was not enough.
Are these riot victims facing the new elections with their old wounds still fresh?
