New Delhi: Veteran Madhya Pradesh Congress leader and the party’s MLA from the Bhopal Central assembly constituency Arif Masood is facing death threats, including one issued publicly by BJP leader Krishna Ghadge, who is a close supporter of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

“This matter is not about Pakistan. Those agents of Pakistan are standing at this very intersection, listening. I want to tell them, now try causing a ruckus in Bhopal. Arif Masood, the thief, and his followers who oppose our religion, we will not spare them… We will deal with them right here),” BJP leader Ghadge is seen saying in multiple videos while speaking about the recent Pahalgam terror attack, reported Indian Express.

Ghadge, who is a member of the state BJP working committee, also used an expletive against Masood.

While Masood’s supporters sent a complaint against Ghadge to the police, the BJP leader refused to apologise for his comments.

“Our rally was against Pakistan. My statement calling him (Masood) a Pakistani agent and a threat to take his life… it’s a subject that is much better discussed now that the Arif Masood fan club people are filing a complaint against me… I spoke against Pakistan and they are taking Pakistan’s side and filing a report against me,” said Masood in a statement.

Earlier, Masood had also received death threats from a man called Sachin Raghuvanshi. Later, photos of Raghuvanshi, who faces an FIR, later emerged with a senior BJP leader.

“They are angry since I keep getting votes and remain the Bhopal MLA despite them applying their entire might to dislodge me. They don’t like the narrative of Hindu-Muslim unity either and hence target me,” Masood told the newspaper.
