New Delhi: Ahead of the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the Haryana government on July 21 (Sunday) issued orders to suspend mobile internet and bulk SMS services in Nuh district for a period of 24 hours.

According to the orders issued by Haryana Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Anurag Rastogi, internet services in the district will remain suspended from 6 P.M. on July 21 (Sunday) to 6 P.M. on July 22 (Monday), reported the Press Trust of India.

“… there is an apprehension of causing tension, annoyance, agitation, damage of public and private property and disturbance of public peace and tranquility in the district Nuh..,” read the order that came at the feedback of Additional DGP-CID, Haryana and a Deputy Commissioner.

The Nuh police said that tight security arrangements have been made to ensure that the Yatra passes peacefully.

Earlier this month, an FIR was registered against a lawyer in Nuh for a post he made on social media ahead of the Jalabhishek Yatra.

In July last year, communal violence had erupted in Nuh during the Hindutva procession by the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bajrang Dal. By the evening, fresh incidents of communal violence were reported from Gurugram and Sohna.
