Prime Minister Modi's speech during an election rally in Banswara, Rajasthan is going viral. In the speech, PM Modi directly attacks the Muslim community, claiming they are infiltrators and saying that if Congress comes back to power, Muslims will have the first right on the country’s resources. Modi alleges that Manmohan Singh made a similar statement during his tenure as Prime Minister. However, let's fact-check this claim. Did Manmohan Singh really make such a statement? The answer is no!
In fact, Modi had previously made such an allegation in 2006, prior to becoming PM. At that time, then-PM Manmohan Singh responded, clarifying that his statement had been misused. Singh emphasised the importance of upliftment for all backward communities, including SC, ST, OBC, women, children, and minorities. It is incorrect to prioritise only one community, Singh asserted.
