Haldwani (Uttarakhand): On February 8, the tranquil streets of Uttarakhand’s Haldwani were shattered by waves of violence following the demolition of a mosque and madrasa. The repercussions were dire, with five lives lost, over 42 individuals arrested, and countless others left injured in the chaos.

As the dust settled, the Banbhoolpura area of Haldwani found itself engulfed in an eerie silence, blanketed by a stringent lockdown. Residents were confined to their homes, forbidden from venturing out even for essential supplies like medicine, milk, and food. The once bustling streets now lay deserted, echoing the palpable tension that gripped the community.
