The SDMC on April 28, released a letter stating its plan to carry out a 10-day anti-encroachment drive in various regions including South Delhi's Shaheen Bagh.

BJP spokespersons stated that the region is "full of mafias" and therefore, a bulldozer drive must take place in the area.
