Several eminent personalities gathered at the Press Club of India to protest against scholar and activist Umar Khalid's incarceration on Monday, September 13 – the day his imprisonment crossed the one-year mark.

Umar Khalid is a vocal activist against the CAA and NRC, was called for questioning by the Special Branch of Delhi Police a year ago and arrested in connection with the communal riots in North East Delhi.
