New Delhi: Controversial Dasna temple priest Yati Narsinghanand, who is now infamous for his anti-Muslim hate speeches at various events, has attended another event where such speeches were made – this time in Himachal Pradesh's Una.

Narsinghanand was arrested for hate speech after his remarks at the Haridwar 'Dharma Sansad' and is currently out on bail. As The Wire has reported before, his bail conditions make clear that he is to stay away from making provocative speeches and attending events that may disturb harmony. However, that has not deterred him – and authorities have not taken action against him on this count.

Speaking to reporters at the event, Narsinghanand said Hindus must have more children to make sure India doesn't "become an Islamic nation". He made wild, baseless claims, such as that 40% of Hindus will be killed within 20 years if they do not become "strong".

At the Una event, several other Hindutva leaders too made provocative speeches, including telling Hindus to pick up arms. Satyadeva Saraswati, one of the organisers of the meeting, claimed that it was a "private meeting" that did not require the government's permission. "We don't believe in the law... We are not afraid of anyone... here we are telling the truth, not giving any hate speech," he added, according to NDTV.

Sadhvi Annapurna, who was also named in the Haridwar hate speech FIR, also spoke at Una.

Narsinghanand had violated his bail conditions before as well, when he called for Hindus to pick up arms at an event in Delhi's Burari. While another FIR was registered against him at the time, no action was taken for violating bail conditions.
