After Defacement at Consulate Premises in Melbourne, India Raises Issue With Australian Authorities
New Delhi: In a reported act of defacement, the Indian Consulate in Australia’s Melbourne was allegedly targeted, leading to the Indian High Commissioner to raise the issue with the Australian authorities on Friday (April 11).
According to the Victoria police, a graffiti was discovered at the front entrance of the Consulate at around 1:00 am on Thursday (April 10).
"Officers believe the front entry of the building was graffitied overnight, sometime between Wednesday and Thursday. An investigation into the damage remains ongoing,” said a police spokesperson, reported Press Trust of India.
In a post on X, the Canberra-based Indian High Commission said that the issue has been raised with the Australian authorities.

So far the Police have not confirmed if any suspects have been identified to be responsible for the incident.
