New Delhi: US President Donald Trump has rejected Iran's response, delivered through Pakistani mediators, to a US proposal to end the war. In a social media post on his truth social platform, the president wrote, "I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called ‘representatives.’ I don’t like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP."

Iranian state television reported that Tehran rejected the US proposal, instead insisting on war reparations, an end of sanctions, full Iranian sovereignty on the Strait of Hormuz and the release of seized assets.

The development comes amid rising tensions in the Gulf with the Iranian army saying that it shot down an "enemy drone" in the southwestern region and Hezbollah reporting that it targeted Israeli soldiers using attack drones in Khiam, in southern Lebanon. Meanwhile, Israeli attacks on Lebanon have continued, killing two paramedics and one civilian.
