Day 75 of US-Israel War on Iran: Trump Set to Arrive in China as Fuel Prices Surge in the US

New Delhi: As the US-Israel war on Iran enters its 75th day, President Donald Trump says US will "win" the war, adding that Washington is prepared to secure a victory by any means necessary, whether diplomatically or militarily. President Trump is set to arrive in Beijing on Wednesday, May 13, for a highly anticipated summit with China's President Xi Jinping. The visit comes at a crucial time for his presidency, with Trump's domestic popularity ratings falling in the wake of the war and subsequent hikes in prices.

Trump's visit follows closely behind Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi's trip to Beijing last week. Speaking about his three-day visit, Trump said that the US did not need China's assistance in ending the Iran war. “We have a lot of things to discuss. I wouldn’t say Iran is one of them, to be honest with you, because we have Iran very much under control," he told reporters on Tuesday, May 12.

When asked about the rising inflation in the US, Trump responded that he "doesn't think about Americans' financial condition" as preventing Iran from having nuclear weapons was priority, according to Al Jazeera.

Meanwhile, the conflict in the Gulf looms large as Israeli attacks on Lebanon kill two paramedics and injure another.
