New Delhi: A day after Benjamin Netanyahu's office reported that the Israeli prime minister "secretly visited" the UAE's President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during US-Israel's war on Iran, the UAE has released a statement denying any such claims.

In a social media post on X on Thursday (May 14), the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "The United Arab Emirates denies reports circulating regarding an alleged visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the UAE, or receiving any Israeli military delegation in the country.” The statement added that the UAE's relations with Israel "are public and conducted within the framework of the well-known and officially declared Abraham Accords, and are not based on non-transparent or unofficial arrangements," calling on media outlets to exercise precision and professionalism.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi indicated that Iran knew about the visit and the UAE's collusion with Israel, writing on X, "Netanyahu has now publicly revealed what Iran’s security services long ago conveyed to our leadership."

Araghchi also denounced the US and Israel for "expansionism and warmongering," adding that the conflict is a "lose-lose proposition for all sides," according to Al Jazeera.
