New Delhi: Turkey has said that media reports claiming the country was engaged in "radicalisation activities" targeting India and other countries are "part of a malicious disinformation campaign aimed at damaging bilateral relations between the two countries."
In the aftermath of the Delhi blast earlier this week in which 13 people were killed, many news outlets quoted unnamed police sources to say that investigators probing the Red Fort blast have traced a key link between the arrested suspects and a foreign handler operating from the Turkish capital of Ankara.
Turkey's Directorate of Communications Centre for Countering Disinformation said in a statement that media reports have been claiming that “Türkiye is linked to terrorist acts in India and provides logistical, diplomatic, and financial support to terrorist groups.”
The X post of the directorate had screenshots of News18 and India Today's updates with a large cross mark on them. The News18 report claims to be exclusive and says it uncovers "Turkey's role in radicalising sleeper cells against India, Turkish government is providing logistical, diplomatic and financial help to all terrorist groups across the world."

The country said that it "firmly rejects all acts of terrorism, regardless of where or by whom they are committed, and stands as a leading country in the fight against terrorism through cooperation with the international community."
It cited that it actively contributes to the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy and "plays an effective role" in shaping NATO’s counter-terrorism policies.
The claim that Türkiye engages in “radicalisation activities” targeting India or any other country is purely disinformative and lacks any factual basis, the statement added.
"Such unfounded and manipulative reports targeting Türkiye are attempts to undermine our country’s contributions to international peace, security, and stability. The public is kindly advised not to give credence to such disinformative claims," it said.
