Bangladeshi traders targeted in Durgapur>
Another similar incident was witnessed in West Bengal’s Durgapur on Sunday when protests erupted at the Durgapur Mahotsav wherein two traders had put up stalls with Bangladesh flags to sell sarees, reported The Times of India.>
The photos of the flags put up on the stalls were removed after the BJP under the leadership of local party leader Lakhan Ghorui held protests but the situation remained tense.>
“We came from Narayanganj, Bangladesh, to sell sarees after discussing with the fair committee. Our banner for the sarees had a symbol of the Bangladeshi flag. We were told to remove it, so we removed it and complied without any issues,” said Samsur Rahaman, one of the traders.>
Prabir Ghoshal, a member of the fair committee said that he told the traders to take down the banner as such action will not be tolerated.>
