The four-day military conflict between India and Pakistan which saw missile and drone attacks ended on Saturday with US President Donald Trump claiming to have mediated a ceasefire. Since then Trump has continued to claim credit including saying he used trade as leverage to avoid a nuclear conflict.

India has said that it was the Pakistan DGMO that called his Indian counterpart to stop hostilities. What was Trump’s role and what lies ahead for India and Pakistan?
