New Delhi: US National Security Advisor Jake Sulivan has postponed his planned trip to India once again, citing "ongoing events in the Middle East".
The senior US official was supposed to meet his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval and discuss a range of issues, and undertake a review of the bilateral Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET).
"Due to ongoing events in the Middle East, NSA Sullivan has postponed his trip to India this week. NSA Sullivan looks forward to holding the iCET annual review at the next earliest possible date and remains personally committed to advancing our deeply consequential and multifaceted partnership with India," a US Embassy spokesperson said.
This visit had been rescheduled from February, when too Sullivan had said at the last minute that he wouldn't be able to come.
"Similarly, the President looks forward to the next meeting of the Quad leaders and continuing our efforts with India to deliver results for the American and Indian people, as well as our partners, in support of our shared vision for a free, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific," the spokesperson continued.
The Quad leaders' summit had been scheduled for January in India, but did not take place after US President Joe Biden cancelled his trip.
