COVID-19: CBSE Postpones Class 12 Exams, Cancels Tests for Class 10

New Delhi: Faced with a surge in COVID-19 cases across the country, the CBSE on Wednesday, April 14, cancelled the Class 10 board exams and postponed the exams for Class 12.
The results of Class 10 students will be prepared based on criteria that the Union education ministry will release.
Authorities will review the health crisis situation after June 1 and then arrive at a decision on conducting the CBSE class 12 board exams. Students will be given 15 days' prior notice, the ministry said.

"Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on this basis will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams,” Indian Express has reported, quoting from the ministry press release.
The decision comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with the Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal and key officials today to discuss the board exam issue.
Class 10 and 12 exams were originally set to begin from May 4 amid demand by some leaders, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, that they be cancelled amid an alarming rise in the COVID-19 cases across the country.
