New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a satirical political brand that has rapidly gained social media traction since its launch last month, appointed three spokespersons on Wednesday (June 3) as it gears up for a protest against the Union education ministry's dismal handling of multiple public exam failures.

In a post on X, the group, founded by Abhijeet Dipke, named Saurav Das, an investigative journalist, as its chief spokesperson. Das has reported extensively on legal, judicial and social issues and was a part of the anti-pollution protests at the India Gate last November.

Along with Das, Vijeta Dahiya, a political researcher, author and filmmaker, and Ashutosh Ranka, an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur graduate who previously worked with McKinsey & Company in London, will represent the organisation across media platforms. Ranka returned to India last year and has since actively participated in environmental, education and youth campaigns in Jaipur, including Dol Ka Badh, 2025 Amaira suicide case and NEET-UG 2026 paper leak row.

"CJP is committed to changing the political discourse of India, and this will be led by a new generation of leaders," the party said in its announcement.

The appointments come ahead of Dipke's return to India on June 6, following which a peaceful protest is planned in Delhi to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over NEET-UG paper leak and lapses in the Central Board of Secondary Education's On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.

Sonam Wangchuk, activist and educator, in a social media post on X, declared that he would be joining the June 6 protest if nothing changes by June 5.

The satirical political organisation has drawn in millions of students and young people, positioning itself as a platform for addressing education and youth-related grievances. Rallying behind the "cockroach" symbol, the party's fresh leadership appointments signal its intent to move beyond online buzz to street-level demonstrations and political protest, serving as its first major test.
