New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke has countered questions on how he has been able to fund his studies in the US by asking whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi is ready to show his degree if he shows his scholarship and loan letters. Meanwhile, a complainant has claimed that he is a "Pakistani agent."

“I am ready to reveal my scholarship letter and education loan letter. Will the emperor show his degree?” Dipke said in a post on X.

The outfit founded by Dipke led to a nationwide youth movement which last month led to the resignation of the Union education minister, Dharmendra Pradhan.

Speculation about the prime minister’s college degrees have never died down as he has steadfastly refused to ask the universities he attended to publish them.

Dipke's response came in the back of a Surat-based Right to Information activist Amit Tiwari's efforts to have the fledgling CJP's finances looked into.

Reports say that Tiwari has filed complaints with the Election Commission of India, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs and the Maharashtra government, sought scrutiny of the organisation’s legal status and a Rs 1 crore fund pledged by Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal, and asked for an inquiry into the financial assets of Dipke’s father.

Dipke uploaded a video post, speaking on these updates. “I just saw that a BJP worker has filed an RTI on me and he wants to know how I completed my education. So, I want to ask him, will your leader show their degree? I am ready to show my scholarship letter and education loan letter. Will your leader show their real degree?” he asked in Hindi.

Dipke noted the role of central agencies.

“Whenever anyone raises a voice against this government, it sends ED, CBI and other agencies to harass him. If the Prime Minister sends ED to me, he should also send along a copy of his degree certificate. Then I will make my education loan, scholarship details and degree certificate public,” he said.

"I do not understand why these people are against education. Why can't they stomach the face that someone from a simple household is studying in Boston?" he added.

The CJP's members are in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to discuss the outfit's future course of action.

Police complaint against Dipke

Meanwhile, pressure from Hindutva wings and others have mounted on Dipke – alongside the concerted campaign to exact apology videos from especially young women who participated in the protests.

Reports now say that a social media influencer, Faizan Ansari, has filed a police complaint against Dipke, claiming that his supporters assaulted Ansari in Pune and Aurangabad.

The complainant has urged the Delhi Police to “immediately arrest” Abhijeet Dipke, and has claimed that he is a "Pakistani agent."
