Hanuman Prasad Poddar Andh Vidyalaya, the only blind school in the whole of the Purvanchal area of Varanasi has been suddenly closed for all students studying at a level above Class 9. The signs of closure began showing since last year.
The school is run jointly by the government and a trust. Last year itself, the members of the trust had spoken of closing it. The trustees who assist in running this institution which has 250 students, say the government is no longer helping run the school.
