A Ram temple structure was reportedly created on the University of Hyderabad campus on Ram Navami, April 10. This led to concern amongst students.
According to The News Minute, the structure was allegedly set up by members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the students’ wing of the RSS. Portraits of Ram and Hanuman were installed along with saffron flags, and rituals were reportedly performed.
Other students groups saw this as an attempt to saffronise the campus and focus on Hindu religious practices and beliefs.
