Cheetah Found Injured in Kuno, Taken Into Captivity For Treatment
New Delhi: Authorities on June 1 found a female cheetah injured in Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park, the state forest department said in a press note on June 3.
On tracking personnel informing authorities about the injured animal in the Pahadgarh area in Morena district, veterinarians performed a health examination at the location, and then brought the animal to the veterinary facility in Palpur inside the Park for observation and further treatment in an enclosure.
However, the press note did not specify what the nature of the injury sustained by the 27-month-old Indian born cheetah (named KGP11) was, or how it could have sustained the injury.
Field Director and Assistant Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Uttam Kumar Sharma told The Wire on the afternoon of June 3 that these aspects are “under investigation”.
The cheetah had been in the wild since March 2025.
