New Delhi: The Yamuna water levels are continuing to rise in Delhi, leading to displacement, flooding and heavy traffic jams in parts of the city. Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Thursday that all educational institutes in the capital will be shut till Sunday. All government officers, except those on essential duties, will be asked to work from home. He added that an advisory for private companies to ask employees to work from home will also be issued soon.
The Wire visited flooded areas in Jamuna Bazaar, near the Red Fort, and a temporary shelter on Mayur Vihar's Pusta Road on Thursday morning.
