The resistance to stopping a metro car shed from being constructed in the heart of Aarey forest, Mumbai's green lung, is ongoing. Eknath Shinde, soon after being sworn in as the chief minister, announced that the shed would be relocated to Aarey. The issue is scheduled to be heard in the Supreme Court this week and activists continue to protest despite detentions.
The Wire's Sumedha Pal spoke to protestors about the situation on the ground. The activists said that a large number of trees have been cut down already and that the protestors are facing harassment from police and other authorities. Watch the video to learn the full details.
