New Delhi: The AgustaWestland issue was raked up once again in the Lok Sabha today with a BJP member demanding a probe to find out who received kickbacks in the deal for the purchase of 12 VVIP helicopters.

Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Kirit Somaiya claimed that two of the accused in the alleged scam – Gautam Khaitan and Guido Haschke – were also "involved" in other companies and were incorporated as directors in real estate company Emaar-MGF, as per a SEBI report.

Without taking any name, he said a politician is involved in buying and selling properties, which he said was earlier done by his "jijaji" (brother-in-law) in Haryana. This led to an angry reaction from the Congress benches.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi had on May 3 sought to dismiss BJP's attempts to drag him into the Commonwealth Games and VVIP chopper scam saying he is always targeted and "happy to be targeted".

Somaiya, in a letter to the Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation, had asked them to check Gandhi's links with a real estate developer allegedly involved in the CWG scam and also the alleged connections of a political aide of the Congress vice-president with a middleman in the AgustaWestland deal.
