Day 58 of US-Israel War on Iran: Yet to See if US is Truly Serious About Diplomacy, Says Iranian FM
New Delhi: The crisis in West Asia triggered by the US and Israel’s war on Iran entered day 58 on Sunday (April 26). Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi, who travelled to Pakistan for what he described as indirect talks with US envoys and left the country on Saturday (April 25) evening, has said that he is yet to see that the US is truly serious about diplomacy.
“Very fruitful visit to Pakistan, whose good offices and brotherly efforts to bring back peace to our region we very much value. Shared Iran's position concerning workable framework to permanently end the war on Iran. Have yet to see if the U.S. is truly serious about diplomacy,” Araghchi wrote on X.
Since the war began, at least 3,375 people have been killed in Iran and at least 2,496 people in Lebanon, where the Israel-Hezbollah fighting resumed two days after the Iran war started. Also, 23 people have been killed in Israel and more than a dozen in Gulf Arab states.
Fifteen Israeli soldiers in Lebanon, 13 U.S. service members in the region and six U.N. peacekeepers in southern Lebanon have been killed, reported the Associated Press.
