About 90 lakh voters have been deleted in the SIR in West Bengal with names of about 25 lakh voters still hanging in the balance as they remain under adjudication even as polls are due to be conducted in the state in two weeks.

Among those who found their names deleted is Md Shameem Akhtar, a decorated Indian Air Force (IAF) veteran who found his name deleted from the voter list.
