On Monday (December 9), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs repeatedly raised alleged links between the Congress party and American billionaire George Soros, despite Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar having previously dismissed such discussions.
Dhankhar allowed these speeches during Zero Hour, which typically requires his approval. This move angered the opposition, with leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge accusing the ruling party of undermining democracy.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh questioned the validity of permitting such discussions. Despite agreements for smooth proceedings, disruptions occurred in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
