New Delhi: From 2021-22 to 2025-26, fund releases to Gujarat under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) – a scheme run by the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs – amounted to zero, data furnished before the Rajya Sabha by the Union government has revealed, reported New Indian Express.

The official state-wise fund-release table records Rs 0 crore for Gujarat in 2021-22, followed by dashes for 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26, which means that no funds were released to Gujarat under PMJVK during any of these five financial years.

As per the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, PMJVK funds are released on the basis of eligible project proposals which are submitted by states and their fulfilment of prescribed conditions, instead of through a fixed state-wise allocation.

However, the data furnished by the government reveals that while Gujarat didn’t receive any funds during the aforementioned period, several other states received substantial releases during the same period.

While Assam received funds in 2021-22, 2024-25 and 2025-26, other states including Karnataka, Manipur, Mizoram, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh also recorded sizeable releases across different years.
