Watch | How AAP Has Neglected Healthcare in Delhi's Nizampur Village in a Pandemic

The Wire's Yaqut Ali visited the village and talked to the villagers about the health facilities available in and around the area.

The abysmal state of health infrastructure in Delhi’s Nizampur village is visible through the dilapidated condition of the mohalla clinic set up by the Aam Aadmi Party.

The Wire’s Yaqut Ali visited the village and talked to the villagers about the health facilities available in and around the area.

According to the villagers, the clinic was set up four or five years ago and since then, it has been neglected by the Delhi government. Apart from the mohalla clinic, which is the largest healthcare facility in the village, the other health centres located near the village are also non-operational. The villagers complain that they had to travel at least 10 kilometre to get a COVID-19 test done during the lockdown.

They urge the Delhi government to either fix the health centre or at least set up a quarantine centre in the village with some doctors, who could help them survive the impending third wave.

Dharampal Lakra, MLA of the area, which falls under Mundka constituency, told The Wire he will soon try to get the health centre in the village fixed.
