DIGIPUB News India Foundation held a press conference to discuss the challenges and implications of the Broadcasting Services (Regulation) Bill 2024 for digital news media organisations, social media influencers, and online content creators, on August 8.

The new provisions of the Broadcast Bill have far-reaching consequences for press and creative freedom, the operational viability of digital content creators, and the broader implications for India's digital ecosystem.

DIGIPUB, with 100 members, is the largest and the most diverse coalition of digital news media entities, media commentators, and journalists.

Ritu Kapur, co-founder and managing director of Quint Digital Media Limited and the general secretary of DIGIPUB; Ravish Kumar, former NDTV India editor and a Ramon Magsaysay awardee; Anant Nath, editor, The Caravan and president of the Editors Guild of India, Apar Gupta, advocate and co-founder of the Internet Freedom Foundation, spoke at the presser.
