At least eight policemen of Uttar Pradesh police, including DSP, were killed in an encounter with criminals in Kanpur.

Officials said late in the night, the police were going to arrest the history-sheeter Vikas Dubey in the Dicru village of the Choubepur police station. The encounter took place.

About 60 criminal cases are registered against Dubey.
