The 2019 novel coronavirus (nCoV), whose first infection was registered in the city of Wuhan in China's Hubei province, has now been detected in 23 other countries. On February 2, the World Health Organisation noted in a situation report that thus far, 14,557 people have acquired the virus; 2,110 of these people have been severely sick and 304 have died. Of these, only 146 confirmed cases – including three in India – and one death have been outside China.
