Initially, Baba Ramdev-promoted Patanjali Ayurved had claimed Coronil could be used for the treatment of COVID-19. Patanjali also claimed that Coronil had been certified by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a treatment for coronavirus. Later, the WHO issued a statement saying it had not reviewed or certified the effectiveness of the medicine for coronavirus treatment. Even the government directed the firm to use Coronil only as an immunity booster and not as a treatment for the COVID-19 virus infections.
