ICMR will conduct a study to find the efficacy of the BCG vaccine against COVID-19. ICMR said that till any definitive result is reached it will not recommend the vaccine even for healthcare workers.

BCG is a vaccine primarily used against tuberculosis. Researchers in Boston, Australia and the Netherlands have also been conducting trials to investigate the potential of BCG against the novel coronavirus.
