A video of a toddler's vain attempt to wake up his dead mother on a railway platform in Bihar's Muzaffarpur had surfaced during the coronavirus-induced lockdown. The video highlighted the abject plight of migrant families and went viral on social media.

Migrant workers had, before that time, been walking back to their villages in huge numbers. Then, the government introduced Shramik Special trains which led to another set of problems for those travelling in them.
