New Delhi: On Friday, a special CBI court acquitted all 22 accused in the fake encounters of Sohrabuddin Shaikh, Kausar Bi and Tulsiram Prajapati. The judge said the prosecution was unable to prove the allegations beyond doubt. The court said despite three investigations, the evidence was lacking.
The court expressed sorrow at the inability to convict anyone. “I feel extremely sorry for the family of Sohrabuddin Shaikh, and Tulsiram Prajapati, especially his mother Narmadabai. But the evidence before me could not establish the roles of any person accused in the case…[there is] no material evidence to prove any charges against the accused.”
