Student activist Gulfisha Fatima was arrested on April 11, 2020 under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for her alleged role in the violence in Northeast Delhi in February. She had alleged that she was subjected to communal slurs and mental harassment in prison.
"They called me an educated terrorist and hurled communal slurs at me. I am facing mental harassment here. If I hurt myself, only jail authorities will be responsible for it,” she had alleged.
On October 9, 2021, activists and journalists gathered at the Press Club of India demanding release of Fatima and other political prisoners like her.
This article went live on October eleventh, two thousand twenty one, at zero minutes past eight in the evening.
