Kuki civil society organisations have expressed their displeasure over the Supreme Court-appointed Justice (Retd) Gita Mittal committee, which submitted its report to the apex court. They claim that the panel did not hold any dialogue, compelling them to reject its findings.

The Supreme Court in August appointed the three-member committee, which includes former Bombay high court judge, Justice Shalini P Joshi, and former Delhi high court judge, Justice Asha Menon, to examine the humanitarian aspects of the ethnic violence in Manipur. The panel submitted its thirteenth interim report to the Supreme Court end of November.
