There was great drama in the centre of Delhi on August 21, 2026, when Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi staged a 7-hour dharna (sit-in) outside the Parliament Street police station. Gandhi had gone there to help Sahil Lochab file a first information report against the person responsible for shooting and seriously injuring him with a pellet gun last month.
For seven hours the police refused to lodge a complaint, which led to Gandhi's dharna. In the end, the police caved in and an FIR was registered.
