New Delhi: A fourth FIR has been registered against Prajwal Revanna, invoking IPC sections including those dealing with sexual harassment and stalking, as well as a section of the Information Technology Act, PTI has reported citing police sources.

Three other people, including former BJP Hassan MLA Preetham Gowda, are named in the FIR and are accused of sharing images Prajwal captured while sexually abusing a woman on a video call, PTI cited its sources as saying.

The FIR reportedly invokes IPC sections dealing with sexual harassment, assaulting a woman with intent to disrobe, criminal conspiracy and stalking.

It is also said to invoke section 66E of the IT Act, which prescribes punishment for creating or transmitting images of a person’s private parts without their consent.

Prajwal, who is former Hassan MP and a grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, is accused by four women of rape, The News Minute reported on Tuesday (June 25), adding that a fifth woman had come forward to file a complaint against him.

He is also allegedly seen in many videos sexually abusing other women and was suspended from his Janata Dal (Secular) party after the videos became public.

A special investigation team formed by Karnataka authorities arrested Prajwal once he arrived in Bengaluru from Europe, where he went immediately using a diplomatic passport after his constituency voted in April.

Two people the special investigation team arrested last month for their alleged role in distributing the videos Prajwal is seen in. According to TNM, one was an employee in Preetham Gowda’s office while the other was said to be his aide.

Meanwhile, the team has taken custody of Prajwal for four days, until June 29TNM also reported. He had been previously remanded to judicial custody.
