France goes to the polls on Sunday, April 23, in the first phase of what has been one of the most unpredictable and tight presidential campaigns in their history. Although competition has been tough, with controversies and controversial candidates in the fray, in the final lap of the race centrist Emmanuel Macron is being seen as a favourite to become Francois Hollande's successor.
