One of India’s most highly respected political analysts, Neerja Chowdhury, who’s been covering elections for decades, says that the Bihar yatra has confirmed Rahul Gandhi as the only alternative to Narendra Modi. Neerja Chowdhury says. “I would say the Bihar yatra, as I would read it, has underlined the fact that he is the only alternative today from the opposition to Narendra Modi in the future, whenever that future comes.”

In a 25-minute interview to Karan Thapar for The Wire about Rahul Gandhi’s 1,300 km Voter Adhikar Yatra, which culminated in a grand march in Patna on September 1, Chowdhury said, “The yatra was Rahul’s show, he was not playing second fiddle to the regional parties.”
