
New Delhi: In the year 2023-24, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spent Rs. 1,754 crore on election or general propaganda which is the lion’s share of the party’s expenditure that year.>
According to a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) the other expenses of the BJP include Rs. 349.71 crore towards administrative costs, reported The Hindu.>
On the other hand, the Congress spent Rs. 619.67 crore on election expenses and Rs. 340.70 crore towards administrative and general expenses.>
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) spent the maximum of Rs. 56.29 crore on administrative and general expenses and Rs. 47.57 crore on employee cost.>
A collective income of Rs. 2,669.86 crore was declared by the six national parties – BJP, Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Aam Aadmi Party, and National People’s Party.>
Donations received through the now-defunct electoral bonds scheme account for 43.36% (Rs. 2,524.13 crore) of the total income of the BJP, Congress, and the AAP.>
The BJP received electoral bonds worth Rs. 1,685.62 crore, the Congress Rs. 828.36 crore, and the AAP Rs. 10.15 crore.>
